In your post, discuss the different ways to assess the ability of your students to read a text.

1. Look at the narrative and expository texts that you selected in Activity 1-A-1. Evaluate their readability using the tools presented in the Key Information. Note your observations in the Discussion.
2. Show the books to at least two children and explain how you determined if the books were appropriate for them to read. Use specific examples.
3. Discuss why it is important to determine the readability of a text when working with children.
